Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late singer Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown may be moved form Emory University Hospital in Atlanta to a rehabilitation facility in the area, two sources close to Bobbi Kristina’s family told Entertainment Tonight.
There has not been much news on Bobbi Kristina, who has been hospitalized since being found unconscious face-down in a bathtub on Jan. 31. She remains in a coma.
ET reports that the family plans to remove the breathing tube from her throat soon to see if and how Bobbi Kristina responds.
Reports ET:
Bobbi Kristina’s family, including father Bobby Brown and grandmother Cissy Houston, has been at the hospital and by her side, and though doctors have told them to prepare for the worst, they have been optimistic.
Doctors told ET that a medically-induced coma could allow a more consistent flow of oxygen to Bobbi Kristina’s brain and heart, but also cautioned that the longer she stayed on life support, the less likely that her body would be able to function on its own. There is also a danger of damage to the brain stem.
Bobbi Kristina is the sole inheritor of mother Whitney Houston’s entire estate, which is estimated to be worth nearly $115 million. Houston died in a bathtub nearly three years ago from a heart condition exacerbated by cocaine use.
Bobbi K turned 22 on March 4.
